The first instinct when we discover a pimple is to try to get rid of it as fast as possible. The action a person takes is sometimes worse than leaving it alone. Initially this action appears to make the blemish smaller but in reality it can actually spread the acne, cause infections or scar the area where the pimple was. This is really not a good solution.

When getting acne tips from friends and family one that will come up often deals with cleanliness and not just of your skin. It is important to wash pillowcases regularly. This is also true of facecloths and towels. Any of these items, because they are used so often, can hold onto germs or bacteria that can spread the acne more.

That is not to say that those who have acne are not clean, just that the cleaner you can keep yourself the easier you will find it to eliminate or at least control acne. So shower often, especially after a workout. Sweat, along with normal body oils can actually catch the dirt or bacteria on your skin and clog the pores more. This is to be avoided.

One of the important acne tips for teenage girls and women alike is not to go to bed with make-up on. That is very bad for the skin. Even if you are very tired take the extra few minutes and remove make-up before going to sleep. Don’t think that those extra few hours do not matter because they do. Make-up clogs the pores. This makes it a perfect environment for acne.
